December 5, 2006
All GYC members were present.
Meeting was called to order at 5:27 p.m.
- Approval of Minutes from November 7, 2006 Meeting
- Plan Committee Report
Deadline for t-shirt contest was extended to December 21, 2006 to allow for better communication to the entrants of the GYC’s purpose. A small group of GYC members will meet at lunch on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 to determine a finalist (s). Chad, Ali, Demetrius, Ariel and Abigail indicated they would be in town and could attend.
- Skate Park Committee Report
Decided to get together on December 12 to make posters to promote the February 13th Town Meeting
- Health & Safety Committee Report
Decided to invite GISD campus reps and others to January 9th meeting for a presentation on Teens in the Drivers Seat Program. Updated on Teach-In schedules.
- Future Meeting Locations
Discussed whether moving GYC meetings to various locations to improve participation. Discussed whether to try a rec center for a few meetings in the spring. January & February need to stay at City Hall due to Drivers Seat presentation and Town Meeting.
- Texas Youth Summit
Summit is scheduled for February 17-18 in Fort Worth. GYC members are instructed to check schedules and advise at January meeting whether they can attend.
