NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the Garland Youth Council of the City of Garland, Texas, will be held at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at Gale Fields Recreation Center, 1701 Dairy Rd, Garland, Texas.
 
Items to be discussed:
 
 
1.  Approval Minutes from December 4, 2007
 
2.  Committee Reports
Service Project Committee – update on Service Project Plans 
TDS Committee – update on March event plans 
Marketing/Promotions Committee – Ad purchased by staff
 
3.  Texas Youth Summit Update
All GYC members should have checked to calendars to determine whether they can attend this event. 
 
4.  2007-08 Teach-Ins
Those who participated in December’s Teach-In will give a report and make suggestions for improving the Teach-In presentation.
 
5.  Consider possible changes to Garland Youth Council bylaws
Members of the GYC will discuss potential changes to the GYC bylaws regarding replacement of members who must resign.

7.  Citizen Comments
Youth are encouraged to give their input on issues in the City that impact them and offer suggestions about how to address these issues.  Youth Council members cannot respond to issues that are not posted on the agenda according to the Texas Opens Meetings Act.
